'Talking Tom & Friends: World' Welcomes the Smurfs in New Partnership - Animation Magazine

Talking Tom & Friends is welcoming some very recognizable blue residents! Outfit7, creator of the global entertainment franchise Talking Tom & Friends, and Peyo Company, owner of the Smurfs brand, have joined forces to bring the Smurfs to Talking Tom & Friends: World. Available now, the collaboration introduces a dedicated Smurfs experience within Outfit7’s mobile sandbox game for kids.

The collaboration brings the world of the Smurfs into Talking Tom & Friends: World through a dedicated in-game experience inspired by the franchise’s characters, locations and values. Kids can explore a Smurfs-themed scene, meet familiar faces including Papa Smurf and Smurfette, unlock themed outfits and accessories, and discover activities inspired by the Smurfs’ universe.

As Outfit’s first game created specifically for kids, Talking Tom & Friends: World provides a natural home for the Smurfs, the partners assert — combining imaginative play, self-expression and exploration.

“Many of us grew up with the Smurfs, which is part of what makes this collaboration so special,” said Tadeja Irmančnik, Brand Partnerships Lead at Outfit7 (Ekipa2 subsidiary). “The Smurfs [is] one of those rare brands that have successfully connected with multiple generations without losing what made them special in the first place. That’s a big reason why we were excited about this partnership! Through Talking Tom & Friends: World, we’re able to bring those characters into a new type of experience and give kids another way to discover and interact with the world of the Smurfs.”

Fabienne Gilles, CCO Licensing at Peyo Company, said, “We are excited to bring our beloved little Smurfs into Talking Tom & Friends: World through this new partnership with the talented team at Outfit7. I’m sure kids and parents alike will love discovering this fun new collaboration and playing together with the Smurfs, Talking Tom, and his friends.”

The Smurfs collaboration joins a growing portfolio of partnerships across the Talking Tom & Friends franchise. As the IP continues to grow through products tailored to different audiences, the Smurfs bring the ability to resonate across generations. Together, they demonstrate how enduring characters can continue finding new ways to connect with audiences, whether through games created specifically for kids or products with broader appeal.
