3Doubles Producciones Appoints Laura Prieto as Head of Executive Production - Animation Magazine

Spanish 3D animation studio 3Doubles Producciones has appointed Laura Prieto as its new Head of Executive Production. With this addition, the Canary Islands-based studio aims to consolidate its global expansion and strengthen its slate of co-productions and original projects aimed at the demanding international market.

Stepping into her new role, Prieto’s first assignment will be attending TIFF to drive new business development and expand 3DP’s global footprint.

Prieto brings to 3Doubles Producciones more than 15 years of international experience spanning production, sales, and distribution in the entertainment industry.

Before joining 3Doubles, Prieto began her tenure at Viva Pictures in 2011 as a key member of the founding team, directing the company’s operations. She subsequently served as SVP of Content Acquisitions and Development between 2019 and 2026. During this period, she led the multi-territory acquisition of major commercial animation hits such as The Amazing Maurice, 100% Wolf, Terra Willy and Night of the Zoopocalypse, overseeing negotiations, financial analysis and release strategies.

Prieto’s strategic vision and extensive global network are already shaping the studio’s ambitious slate. In addition to upcoming family feature films such as Rock Bottom and Flamingo Flamenco, she is driving a major leap into adult animation with Ages of Madness — an ambitious international project inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s cosmic horror universe, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Álex de la Iglesia. This will be followed by a short film anthology featuring a segment directed by Jorge R. Gutiérrez.

Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 3Doubles Producciones employs more than200 professionals, specializing in full production services and co-productions of feature films and television series. Its portfolio includes the Goya-nominated films Inspector Sun and the Curse of the Black Widow (2022), SuperKlaus (2025) and Norbert (2026), among Heidi: Rescue of the Lynx and others. Currently, the studio is in production on major international titles such as Gungo and Flamingo Flamenco.
